Nonlinear Cardiac Dynamics

Experimental, Theoretical and Computational Modeling of Nonlinear Cardiac Dynamics

Within the context of computational cardiology, the project will focus on various aspects related to the experimental, theoretical and numerical analysis of cardiac dynamics at different spatial and temporal scales. Special attention will be given to thermo-electric optical mapping data analysis and theoretical modeling, building advanced electrophysiological mathematical models of cardiac myocytes, cardiac tissue samples, and realistic whole organ domains. Accordingly, innovative statistical correlation analyses will be conducted with the aim of identifying novel synthetic quantitative indices of cardiac arrhythmias onset amenable for a direct clinical translation. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with Prof. Flavio H. Fenton, Georgia Institute of Technology (USA).
